- Lumbermen arrived in the area to harvest Michigan's pine in 1861
- The first settlers arrived in Morley (Charles Lawson, Neldon Pick, Michael Swanger, George H. Ward, Hiram Bryant, Allen Chapin, Rodney Elmer, and Harvey Winas) in 1869
- In October of 1869 - The Grand Rapids and Indiana Railroad (GR&I) reaches the Village and began to run trains daily each way between Grand Rapids and Morley.
- The Morley Post Office was established in 1869 by (Frank P. Bodwell, Postmaster)
